USA Carhire - Are 'all inclusive' quotes really all inclusive?

I am looking to hire a car for about a week picking up in Las Vegas and dropping off in Phoenix. Following advice on these forums I have been looking carefully at quotes to ensure that the price they quote is the price I'll actually pay without them adding extra insurance/liability/one-way fees.
I've been looking at carrentals.co.uk, holidayautos.co.uk, and airline-network.co.uk and they all say they are all-inclusive rates and also they say there is no charge for one-way rentals.
I've been stung in the past with car rental in the USA, so I am being extra cautious this time.
Has anyone experience of the companies I've listed?
Thanks, Flashfly.

I have used and would highly recommend airline network for car hire in the US. Had a slight bump once and it was all taken care of easily. However all my rentals have been the typical 2 weeks rent and return to the same place so not sure about them for a one way rental, although, as you said, Vegas-Phoenix does show as no charge for 1 way rentals
I would also recommend their "platinum" upgrade option as this means you get the car "full" of petrol, well fullish, and return it empty0 -
If you read airlinenetworks terms and conditions it does state that One way charges are not included in the rental cost, but it also goes on to state that one way charges are not charged between the states of California, Nevada and Arizona.
I used yescarhire last year and picked up in LA and returned it to Vegas and was told there was not a one way rental charge. When i picked up the car they would not let me take it without charging me $100 for the One way drop however much I argued, and of course they couldnt confirm with the UK office as it was closed.
I did have the premium package to include petrol and additional drivers which did include everything except that disputed drop charge
When I got back to the UK I got in touch with Yescarhire who reimbursed me the One way drop charge I was well impressed as I thought I had lost my $100.0 -
if you have not read it... read this link

i hired a car through Alamo ( via travelbag) in Canada and everything was included ( SDCW as well ) all i paid for was a full tank of cheaper than forecourt petrol so maybe north america is bit more on the level than Europe , but you only have to look at the SHOCKING add ons Dollar car rental add to Virgin holiday car hire to know that you must know what you are covered for before you leave home !!!!!!.
https://www.insurance4carhire.com is quite expensive for north american cover, but better than being stung for crap insurance at rip off prices at the desk at the other end of your flight.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0 -
ive used airline network and holiday autos , yes they are fully inclusive

when you get there you need a credit card for a £200 deposit and they will offer you additional insurance that you decline, the insurance you already have is same as our fully comp, the additional ones cover the excess and extra personal protection
also be aware the car type is just a guide for size...its unlikey you will get that model, but theyre all fairly nice cars
*edit never had a one way rental, but theyre both pretty helpfull on the phone
any questions feel free to pm me0 -
I've never done the one-way route HOWEVER...just as a back-up I would EMAIL them (any company you find and want to use and end up using) and ask them about the 1 way and if it's free.. PRINT OUT whatever their reply is...use it just in case they try to say otherwise and then WHIP OUT the paper saying their company said no extra fee's!! You most likely won't need it but I tell ya it's good to have stuff like that no matter where you are going..so you have the proof

I would try airline network though..last time we used them..we had no problems and the car company bumped us up to something posh..We kept getting these looks and comments from people like " wow" nice car :rotfl:

I've used airlinenetwork several time and have had one way rentals.
Their inclusive policy covers everything.
There is no charge for one way drop offs between Nevada and Arizona.
Tip.
Choose the smallest car for your needs and you stand a good chance of being offered a large car for extra-decline this and then you'll probably get the larger car for free as many places do not have the smallest cars.

That happened to us I think.. we ordered a compact 2 door and ended up with this  (Chrysler 300c)
Now that's what I call a nice bump up

Ask them to confirm that the insurance includes for all eventualities and that the excess on the insurance policy is zero.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Thanks for all the advice!
My heart says - It is my Birthday whilst I'm there so we were going to treat ourselves to booking a 300c as it is 'only' an extra £50 (not very Moneysaving though)
My head says - go for the compact and hope for the same upgrade as Nordictat2!0
