in Credit cards
hi guys, just need some help and advice, if anyone could help i'd be very grateful. basically i took out a car finance a few years ago but want to now sell the car. i have spoke to santander about my settlement figure and they have quoted me £2600. to pay that figure i would have to sell the car to get the money, but i cant sell the car before i settle it because they techinically 'own it'. so i was looking into getting a credit card to pay the loan off and once the car has sold, pay the credit card off. my only problem is that i have no idea where to start because i have never owned one. i have had a look around on the site for some information on credit cards but cant find any answers to my questions. i understand some 0% cards have a limit but could i find out what the limit is before i apply? sorry if my questions sound stupid i just have no idea how to go about it.
thanks in advance for any help

Was this a Hire Purchase agreement or just an unsecured personal loan? If it was not a HP agreement they do not own the car. Santander may charge you a free for paying a loan with a credit card. Moreover, paying a loan may be classed with a higher APR (and not 0%) for the purpose of a credit card. You may be better off getting the M&S sterling travellers cheques at 1% fee with the M&S CC at 0% for purchases for 15 months. Alternatively I think that Virgin do a 0% card for a similar period but charge 4% to transfer money. Though, these of course depend on acceptance and credit limit.Don't thank me, thank my post :T
