Travelodge Refund

Options
Has anybody ever been successful in getting a full refund from travelodge, upon complaining once back home? Spent 2 VERY unsatisfactory nights in travelodge this weekend. Was on a "romantic break" with my boyfriend but didn't want to complain at the time as didn't want anything to ruin our weekend. On hindsight, wish we had of done now. I've e-mailed them this morning with a long list of complaints, just wondering what the chances are of getting a refund, and how quickly?

  • Sorry but I dont rate your chances.
We had to stay in travelodge Paignton this summer for a funeral - everywhere else was booked and obviously I had little notice.
Room was filthy, as was bedding and drunken idiots running around corridors all night. Complained at time and complained when I got home but i didn't even get an apology (that was all I wanted) - they even tried to twist it round as being my own fault!!
We were all exhausted and would have been better off sleeping in the car.
    Never, ever again!
  • I got a full refund last year. We had two nights at Covent garden travelodge, we had a family room as we have a 10 yr old daughter. We were put on the same floor as 3 hen night groups who spent the whole 2 nights banging doors, screaming and running up and down the corridors.
We did complain at the time after the first night but were told there were no empty rooms so we had to put up with it. I sent an e-mail when we got back and received a full refund and an apology within 2 weeks.

Why they put hen night guests on the same floor as family room I do not know.
I am only trying to help

i got 1/2 my money back in travelodge crdits, following a stay in sutton coldfield. i emailed them pictures of the mould in the bathroom, the paint peeling of the walls, broken bath plug and the chewing gum.
first they emailed back saying that it was due to the age of the hotel.
so i emailed back again and said that in my opinion these matters were not due to the age but due to thhe poor levels of cleanliness and repair. so they then credited my account

Good luck with it...I'm sure you know you'd have better luck if you'd complained at the time. If the stay was that unsatisfactory then making a complaint probably wouldn't have made it any worse. And the fact you didn't just put up with one night but stayed on for a second without saying anything won't help your case.
I'm not being unsympathetic - I've just had my own problems with TL who tried to bill me £150 for smoking in the room (nobody smoked in the room) on a night when lots of guests complained about the rooms stinking of smoke due to a fire out the back of the hotel. But knowing their attitude and having read several other comments on here I wouldn't rate your chances.
But if you can prove that wrong please let us know - it's be nice to hear of a 'win' for once!
