Think I'm gonna fill a basket and then see what goes in the sale! I'm too easily persuaded to buy stuff in the sales that I don't reeeeally need (or is just a touch too big/small)- i have so much unworn m&s undies!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0

M&S = DFS
How can you trust a company with a sale every couple of weeks? Thorntons are just as bad - hyped up prices, lowered in ever more frequent and desperate sales to make things look bargains when they're not.
Sounds very much like Dominos Pizza too- they have online money-off codes out every week for around 40% off, to justify their prices being so !!!!!!!' high and to create the illusion that you're getting a bargain! Not so.
EDIT: MSE blank off f r i g g i n'? That's not even a swear word! hahaha!0 -

I once heard Martin on the radio explaining the name of this type of marketing. Basically, it allows most of the pizzas to be sold at the very reasonable half-price, but still allows for the highly lucrative and profitbale 'walk-in' impulse buys. Made perfect sense the way he explained it........Where are you Martin??“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0 -

The only downside is that for some of us it just shows M&S up as price manipulators (like DFS and Thorntons) - with the result that we never trust any of their prices to be genuine, and only buy in the sale periods (which is about 25% of the time, after all!) if at all.0 -
