Compliance Team help

3 weeks ago my husband and I split up. We had a joint claim for tax credits.
I rang and made a new claim in my sole name.

The compliance team have sent me a letter asking for lots of details, so ive sent everything off the same day by special delivery.

I have been trying to call the Compliance team to get an update and all i get is an answer machine, and ive left various messages for them to call me and so far ive not receieved a call back.

Ive ran out of money after having to pay my rent and all the other various bills and i have 3 children aged 12, 8 and 3.
Ive asked for an interim payment and i cannot have one as i do not meet the criteria as apparently there is no open claim on the system ????????

Please can anyone help me? I dont know where to turn next.

You should visit your local CAB or welfare rights asap. You can apply for a crisis loan and have 28 days to appeal (review). You can also contact Social Services and ask for an emergency payment for your children under the Children Act. You should seek advice from CAB/Welfare rights asap.
Don't thank me, thank my post :T

  • Thanks for that :)

Its strange as about 15 mins after posting this thread the Compliance team rang me to say my claim had now been processed and i can call in 2 days time to find out how much i will be getting and when my first payment will be!
