How can I improve MW reception the car
I like to listen to Radio 5, but the MW reception is pants. Forget DAB in my locality. The old radio in my previous car was great. But top of the range Sony in my Transporter van is lousy on MW. Fm perfect.

When I complained to the BBC about the deterioration in quality of 5Live transmission in my area they claimed that it was due to work being done on the MW transmitters relating to digital broadcasting. Whether that is true or not it's never got any better, and I would expect over the next few years that nationwide MW broadcasting will be run down and eventually abandoned. Maybe 5Live will get a FM slot at some point but I wouldn't be surprised to find that they only broadcast on DAB in the end. As I can't get either FM or DAB here that'll be the end of my listening to live radio in the car.0
