Advice on switching suppliers
Hi all,
Looking for some advice on my current situation and switching gas and elec supplier.
I have only ever switched once and have been with npower for a couple of years. Reason being, we aquired some debt from my redundancy and ended up owing money.
We was forced to go to a pre paid meter. Now all the debt has been cleared and we are in credit. I recieved a statement last week saying that we are £8 in credit on gas and £187 on elec!
My question is, if i switch can i carry that credit over? Im looking at going back to a monthly direct debit.
I havnt compared any prices yet as im unsure of what to do.
Thanks

Ring Npower and stop being in credit. It's best to use any credit on the meter so that the balance is zero or even on the emergency on the date they change the meter.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

ok, so i have to use my credit up before the meter is removed? i cant carry this credit over to another supplier?
I pressume i just have to ring npower and tell them im leaving (once i do price comparison) and i want the meter removed. is it then just a case of using all the credit up before its removed. obviously paying what i owe them once its removed.
Thanks for your response.0
