    Well done Bluedog,

Feels great to be debt free, and even better when you realise that the dfw ways stick and you know you will never fall into the same trap again.

I still love getting the best value for my money and reusing and recycling things I would have thrown away before. MSE becomes a lifestyle:D :D

    Awww, thanks everyone.

I can't deny it feels good, not just because I'm debt free but because of everything I've learnt through the whole experiences. I'm a much stronger person now in so many ways too and feel I'm a better person for them too so that's good.

One of the main things I've learnt is that you just never know what is round the corner that can throw every good intention and plan out of the window. There's simply no point in beating yourself up over things like this and the energy is far better spent in dealing with it instead.

I've resolved to never let my bank balance to get below a specific level and this will be my own self-induced overdraft facility of sorts. (ie. setting it at £250 means that if the balance goes below this level, then there's work to do for bringing it back above this amount.)

Sophiesmum - I definitely agree that MSE is a way of life and after all this time, it's starting to rub off on other family members now too at long last :rotfl: . I've lost count of how many times they say they've not understood how I've managed to get this or that over time given my financial state. I used to say "I'm a tight-wad and proud of it", but I changed it to "I may be skint but I'm savvy" and that's somehow made the difference in how they see it!

Good luck everyone and all the best.
