Thanks again guys for all your info. I have a couple more queries.
As it is voluntary redundancy would I still be able to get JSA
What would be my official finish date as if it includes my 12 weeks notice then that brings me into another complete year of service (15 yrs). Would I be able to push for another 2 weeks pay
Thanks for that link getmore4less, that looks pretty good, Oh whitewing, that was a bit of a bummer, I forgot to include the maintenance in my rough calculations. if i can get those other 2 weeks that will more than cover that...
Thanks again G0 -
Contributions JSA kicks as soon as you are terminated.
For notice the service the day you are given notice, but since you are over 12years, 12 weeks or contractual which ever is greater.
For redundancy service is the greater of the termination date or the day you are given notice + statutory notice.
So you can add a minimum of 12 weeks to the day you are given notice to give a relevent date for redundancy years of service.0 -

As GM4L says the notice period will be counted towards years service, you should also accrue holidays, contractual overtime, bonuses and any other benefits in your contract during the notice period, although I think commision isn't included.0
