Hi,
For a while now I've been meaning to find software for my Creative Zen Micro (2005 I think) to download to my Windows Vista laptop, so I can take all the music off it and move it to my more up to date Mp3 player.
This is because the device only worked when using the old Windows XP software on my my old, now gone PC.
I've looked on their website and don't really know whether its a file I need to download, driver or firmware etc.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks!

I tried the media player that Creative shipped with their devices a couple of years back and didn't like it at all.
I prefer the generic media players (Banshee is what I use now, but that's Linux-only) such as MediaMonkey, or the many similar alternatives.
One of those should detect your old player when plugged in - provided you set it to MTP mode - and allow you to sync with the PC, then sync with the new portable device.0 -
According to Creative's web site you need an XP machine using Windows Media Player 10. This looks horrendous.
But you could try this backdoor method for your Vista machine.

Ah Ok - I didn't realise the Micro wasn't able to look like a "generic" media playback device. If that's true then I guess MediaMonkey won't work.0
