Leaking Aygo

Hi, there was a post on this issue back in January but thought it better to start a new one.

Bought Aygo Blue Sept 2010, brand new. Has been back to the dealership 3 times for a leak (last time in Feb this year) The rear passenger footwell carpets are soaking, causing the car to steam up really badly, the only safe way for me to drive is to have the air con on all the time.

The dealership have replaced door seals and last time it happened they said water was getting in through the rear lights and that they had sealed them again. Obviously not very well ! The front carpets are bone dry so i tend to think they were right about the rear lights leaking. I have a feeling that it's been leaking all summer but because the weather has now changed it's come to light again.

Today, every non fabric surface in the car was wet with condensation. I'm going back to the dealership in the morning but am really peed off with it all now. Anyone have any idea what i should do or say next ? Apparently it is a known fault, loads of posts on the Toyota Owners Forum about it. I've emailed Toyota head office but wondered if anyone has had the same problem and had it resolved ?

If it has rear doors have they also put new gutter seals along the top of the doors which run all the way along the length of the car? If the leak is through the lights the boot will be wet too, check for water in the spare wheel well. If no damp in the boot it isn't the lights.

I'd check water wasn't entering the boot and finding its way to the rear carpets. The seem under the tailgate seal may need resealing.

It's 3 doors, new door seals were fitted above the original ones, no water in the boot at all. I'm stumped ! :(

Hmmm, perhaps suggest to the dealer that they remove the carpet and as many interior panels as possibe to get to the bottom of it.

They've done that already, i know because they didnt put the panels back on properly and left dirty fingerprints on them ! They also removed that carpets to dry them out, 3 times !
I'm going to have to put my angry head on in the morning i think.
Last time i complained someone from Toyota HO called me to say it would definately be sorted out, lost his flippin name and number !

My wifes C1 (basically same car) was doing the same i solved it by cleaning the boot (which is just a piece of glasss that sits on rubber seal) with glass cleaner . I now clean it every few weeks and so far no more water .

You just clean the glass lid ? Or do you clean the seals aswell ? I went back to the garage today, the metal frames of the seats were wet through again and the windscreen inside was running with water. I'm taking it in next Monday again. Keeping my fingers crossed.

sounds like they need to remove a load of the car's interior and do a proper water-entry test, basically someone sit in it and spray it with a load of water to work out once and for all where it's coming in.

hope you get somewhere with them water leaks are a real pain
Come on, it's not rocket surgery is it?

I cleaned the glass lid with glass cleaner and the seal with cilit bang .
I only found out it was leaking from the lid by my brother sat in back of the car and i sprayed with a hose and put loads of kitchen towels down to see the drips.

    I'm baaaaack !!
Well the car came back dry, they said they'd replaced some modified door seals ? Guess what ? Here i am, 2 weeks later and it's soaking again. Going back to the dealership again tomorrow for them to have ANOTHER look ! I've had it now, i have no faith in them anymore, i've emailed Toyota HO again. Think i'll have to take this further now. No idea where though, is there some trade organisation i can contact ?
