New bathroom suite - buy now or wait until January?

Pretty simple question really - we'll want a new suite (shower enclosure and tray, toilet, basin ad a cupboard, perhaps integrated with the basin) and are just wondering whether there's a good time to buy.
We've looked at Homebase and Bath Store so far and are thinking of a budget of around £1000 for those items.
We won't have masses of scope to be flexible in what we go for - the room is small, can only really be laid out one way (for example we'll need an 800mm quadrant shower enclosure), so a sale with a limited range of discounted items isn't going to help massively. On the other hand, a "we pay the VAT" or similar could be rather handy, or just a sale where a wide range of products are discounted.
We don't want to be hanging on and constantly monitoring prices waiting for a bargain, but with January around the cornet it struck me we might be better off holding out. What's people experience on sales of these kinds of items, at this kind of budget, at that time of the year?

There is always big sales after christmas. I would say unless you really desperately want it now then wait. We saved massively waiting a month a few years ago, the extra money allowed me to have a super duper spa bath and still be less than the price it was when first looked.
