Is anyone on a long term low rate APR?

I was speaking to someone today who claims he is paying about 4% APR for life of the balance. It will take him about 15 years to pay all the debt back he says. If true it is hardly worth it in my opinion since inflation will reduce his debt faster than the interest!

I vaguelly recall some of these deals, but it sounds to good to be true especially for RBS. Has anyone else got one of these 'for life of balance' deals?

I have a Capital One "No Hassle" card which has a purchase rate of 1.53% APR.

It states on the statement that the interest rate tracks 1% above the current BoE rate....I would have thought in that case it should be 1.50% but I'm not saying anything!!

It is a temptation to wack a load of debt on (got enough already really). It as it's been at this rate for 2 years...so it is tracking the BoE rate alright.

At the moment I have a balance of £3300 which will according to the statement will attract £4.20 interest next month.

Obviouly though this isn't a "for life of card deals".

    But still not bad!

I recall M&S doing a 4.9% for life of balance and MBNA were doing 6.9% until they withdrew from the market.
M&S had a 3.9% APR LOB offering a few years ago.

I thought the MBNA card was 5.9% APR LOB?
