Don't know if this is the best board to ask on but as the title says, my Fuji Finepix has just stopped working completely. Looks like some electrical/power type problem but the question is "Can it be fixed?" or is it a "throw away and buy a new one" situation?

Not much to go on. I don't know what power source it uses, but you might want to clean the battery contacts (if it's the rechargeable type) and the contacts in the camera where the battery goes. Fiddly job at a guess, ear buds are good........

I took a FinePix into Jessops for repair a couple of years ago and it was going to cost I think £40 to send it off with no guarantee of successful repair. I just got a new camera.0

Sorry I can't even read my own camera details - It's a Coolpix 3100. I think it's about 3 or 4 years old. I have tried to clean the contacts but that has never been a problem previously. I'm tempted to take it apart and see if I can spot something obvious (like a broken connection) then failing that get a new one.

Has it got a rechargeable battery that you can replace with AAs? The one in my Finepix A310 is shaped like two AA batteris so you can sue those instead. That would prove if it si a battery rpoblem. It's my problem, it's my problem

Not a battery problem, I've been using rechargeables in it for years. In fact I think it came with 2 AA rechargeables and a charger.A house isn't a home without a cat.
