Is there any point of keeping this? The last time I used it was 2002 and even then I'm not certain the employer even looked at it.:D

I still have mine. It's from 1992 and I don't recall using it. I'm not throwing mine out.0

The NRA isn't meant to be something you hand over to a prospective employer, 99.9% of whom wouldn't want to read it except for a school leaver with no work experience.
However it is for YOU as a record of all the details that may be requested in the future - exact names of qualifications, grades and dates. These aren't required for most applications but sometime in the future you will find an application form that asks for them.
It may also provide you with inspiration.0 -
I had one of these when i left school in 1990 and it went right into the bin, always thought it a waste of time when i was typing it out, although i think it would've given me an insight to who i was back then.0

I've never been to an interview where it has been requested and our children do not prepare these anymore where I teach.
It's useful for your reference re: exam results but unless you've done very little work over the past years no employer will want to see it.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -
It's nice to look back at the certificates but in reality I think it's a waste of time. My stepmam bins her certificates as soon as she gets them. I'm trying to de-clutter. Perhaps this can live with all of the cards my OH has given me over the years:o0

Please don't bin your actual exam certificates! These are important and prospective employers will ask you for them. It also costs to get new copies if you do loose them.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0

It was replaced with a progress file when I was at school. Do they not do this either?thegirlintheattic wrote: »I've never been to an interview where it has been requested and our children do not prepare these anymore where I teach.
I use it to keep GCSEs and A Levels in, plus a few certificates for things that no-one would be remotely interested in seeing, but I don't really want to throw out.0 -

No our students do not prepare any type of file. The old folders for the progress file are still in use...as clipboards for field trips.
We help them with CVs and personal statements, and we use an online program where the consider what job they would like and write some reflection on this. I think the idea is they print the pages from the program out and keep them but this in reality doesn't happen.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0 -
