They use 2kWh if on for 1 hour at your EDF rates thats 20.66p. If you just turn the gas central heating on assuming it's terribly inefficient at heating 1 room then you will need 3kWh of gas costing you 8.826p.scotty1971 wrote: »thinking of buying this for my daughters room

my daughter moved up into the loft, and we forgot to get a radiator installed0 -
How cold does the room get? A lot of heat will rise from downstairs into the room so it shouldn't be too cold. The room temperature really only needs to be about 15 degrees for sleeping assuming she's not a toddler. An electric blanket might be a cheaper idea and keep her very warm in bed.scotty1971 wrote: »my daughter moved up into the loft, and we forgot to get a radiator installed
Get a timer whatever you decide upon. No point heating the room if no one is in it.:footie:

are electric blankets not dangerous?0 -
No need for an electric blanket, just throw on an extra quilt. Even a summer one on top will make a huge difference. People have been spoilt by central heating. As long as you are warm in bed, a warm bedroom is not necessary.0

Not if they are visually inspected every time the sheets are changed. Mine is a double bed electric blanket rated at 90W. Running for 8 hours at night on max costs 5p overnight and it's very hot. Most nights I have to reduce the setting as it's too hot reducing the cost further.scotty1971 wrote: »are electric blankets not dangerous?:footie:
