Parking Charge Notice - T & CP

Having 100 things in my head this afternoon I forgot to get a ticket when visiting ASDA to do some shopping. I now have a Parking Charge Notice from T & PC LTD. I have read through a hundred different threads just wanted to know if it's any different as this ASDA you need a ticket for 2hrs parking and you get your money back when you use the shop (over £5) (ie no free time given).

No different - private = ignore completelymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Assuming you spent the required amount to get a refund, the loss to the landowner is zero (because even if you did pay for the 2 hrs parking, they would have refunded you that money).
Ignore TCP, they are very useless and give up easily. And also ignore that Asda store, sending a letter to the manager saying that thanks to a contractor acting on their behalf harassing a customer you shall no longer be shopping there, instead shopping at *name local rival* and telling your friends & family to do the same.0 -
Yep spent over £40 not that I will now ! :mad:0

That's not a problem, you didn't lose anything - we all have to survive!! You gave £40 and you have your groceries for which you spent the money.
The only trouble is: to whom do you go? Tesco? Sainsbury? Waitrose? They're all at it, every one of them. You're better off going where you like and doing your own thing.
"It says one hour, I may need more than that...but my consicence is clean and I know they can't touch me."
It's not right I know but you've got your priorities to consider faced with the knowledge that everywhere is the same.0 -

My nearest supermarket I can practically spit at ..they have T&C P.
I shop at their biggest rival 6 miles away which has no PPC, although I admit that is not the only reason.0 -

I cannot believe so many of these large companies let T&PC operate, it may take a bit more time but I am going to try the smaller independent shops on a main road near to me from now on.0 -
you'll take the advice above to ignore these cretins and study the billions of posts telling you do exactly that.Parkstonered wrote: »Having 100 things in my head this afternoon I forgot to get a ticket when visiting ASDA to do some shopping. or I'll come round to break your legs...
seriously: ignore them and the fake threats that you're certain to receive.0 -
Supermarkets and other retailers should be more afraid of empty car parks than the odd shopper who stays on longer to make a few additional purchases. Whatever the trough feeders of Westminster decide and however many retailers sell their customers down the river to scammers, consumer pressure will decide how car parks are controlled. Vote with your wallet, it is the only way to make retailers take notice.Still waiting for Parking Eye to send the court summons! Make my day!0

I have to confess, I am more of a "big business" shopper than a "small independent" supporter. I've long accepted we don't live in a perfect world. For products, believe it or not I swear by Lidl and Aldi for both quality and price. Of the big wigs, I like Tesco mainly for the "Value" range (especially orange juice and apple pies), my kettle I've had since 2009 has served me well and is in good condition and was then purchased at £5.99 from that Tesco range.
That said, even our Aldis and Lidls still have the threatening signs even though most know it is just a deterrent. But knowing that they are one step from deploying the PPC to set the campaign in motion for cracking down on abuses just proves that their is no heart in the corridors of power, regardless of how well you are treated by the minions in the store itself.
But reading Sirdan's comment, "no PPC but that's not the only reason I shop there", you'll always find that the top quality comes with the friendliest service. If they treat us well, we'll look after them too.0 -
The problem is that supermarkets feel distanced from any liability. People really should be making court claims against them if they are subjected to harassing letters and calls.0
