Domestic & General Monthly Direct Debit computer charge error

This is just for awareness of anyone with a D & G monthly direct debit for covering electical/white goods in their home - to check their bank statements.
I have used D & G for several years and only used repair service once for a cooker element fault - which was resolved quickly and effeciently by their team.
D & G have recently had a computer error recently where monthly direct debits were incorrectly increased by £ 1 extra above the agreed amount for the year. I only spotted this when checking my bank statements dating back to August 2011. On ringing D & G accounts team, they admitted the error and would refund the over charges.
Just so anyone else can check their montly direct debits too...as thousands of single £1's soon add up.

I agree that the services provided by domestic and general have been good, having only required one call out which was efficient. Their customer services team have left a little to be desired... I cancelled 2 policies for dishwasher and washing machine back in August - a month later they hadn't cancelled the direct debit...so I rang, they apologised and agreed to put the money back and cancel the DD... a month later one of the direct debits goes out again and they refund one of the others, so i rang again and they said they would refund the 2 DD's... but a month later and they have only refunded one of them. So I am now down 1 final DD (its only £8 but still)... When I ring on a sunday the guy says I have to ring accounts team on Monday because he can't do anything today, he even says they can't authorise call outs... why are they open on a Sunday when they can't do anything helpful??!!!!0
