Where's my Pc's D drive gone?

actually a.penny.saved currently is the worst time to buy a new harddrive, i've been looking at the prices over the past month, give you an idea.
end of august you could pick up a 2tb drive for £65, 3 weeks later that had risen to £75, and if you look at novatech, ebuyer currently you'll see prices with 3 figures.
£130-£179 for the same drive, samung 2tb. not external but internal sata.
Due to these prices doubling up, i can see even 2nd hand prices going up with people looking to buy cheap drives.0 -

That doesn't change the prices on eBay now, where the OP could get a hard drive for around £5 - £10. However leave it too long and it might.0 -

I think you are right. My hdd is from my old pc and held hundreds of photos, music, videos and data. I know it's plenty big enough for what I need.... I have just got the partition wrong.
I will have to limp along until after the 'Ebay' Christmas season as I have been hoarding my old clutter for months so that I could sell it in the run up to Christmas.Originally Posted by scheming_gypsy

Yes, it is a Dell.Windows needs to be installed to a primary partition, however a data partition can be a logical extended partition. It's better to use NTFS rather than Fat32. If you need Fat32 then make a small partition specifically for it after the data partition. Some things can only access Fat32, such as my Bios when saving settings.
Thank you I will book mark this page and refer back to your helpful comments when I do the reinstall
TakeThis I think you must know my PC as well as I do. I certainly couldn't have got this far without your help.
The good news is, my Ebay sales are doing well so best i wait a while to fix the problem
Thanks again
