Cat's muddy feet - help!

Hello,
One of our cats seems absolutely intent on covering the house in mud. In particular he likes to sit in windows, meaning he'll come into the house, get mud all over the window cills, and all over the walls leading up to them too (and in many cases the curtains) - the utility and kitchen floors are a nightmare too!
I was wondering, do those 'magic door mats' or whatever that grab mud help with pets too? I know they aren't cheap (£20+ in some cases) but it'd be money well spent if it helps, will stuck it underneath his cat flap then
Thanks

Turtle Mats do a range for pets and I think they're pretty much the same principle as the JML "magic" ones, so don't see why not.0

As well as a mat, if you are in when puss comes in, you can always clean his paws with sensitive skin baby wipes - i.e. unscented and no lotions etc. They are so easy to grab and use quickly when needed, and you can often get them on offer - e.g. Huggies have been on "Buy 1, get 2 free" in both Sainsbury's and Tescos recently.
I buy these and nappy sacks for the litter trays quite frequently now - I am getting to know the baby aisles quite well even though I don't have kids of my own
i use these on all of my cats when they get mucky, especially with the Bengal kittens who adore getting as filthy as they can - they always seem to forget they are meant to be sophisticated show cats :rotfl:0 -
I do the same Fridaycat, though I use the cheap (value/basics) wipes that are 36p a pack in supermarkets. I have 6 cats with viral diarheoa at the moment, so I am grabbing them as soon as they come out of the tray and giving their paws a clean! Needless to say, I get through a lot of wipesA Bag A Month Challenge member0

Not nice, VCL - I hope your cats get better soon. My two bengals can sometimes get upset tummies, so I know what it is like - the wipes are so handy to have, aren't they? Luckily my three moggies seem to have much stronger dispositions0 -

If the cat in question is anything like mine, they'll speed over the mat so fast that its paws probably will only make contact with the mat for a split second at most and so it won't make the slightest difference.
I, too, have a cat who loves to deposit great big muddy paw prints all over the house - I think it's simply part and parcel of having an outdoor cat. Baby wipes, cleaning wipes and carpet shampoo are my constant companions throughout the autumn/winter.0 -
How about something like this cat is modelling...

Don't waist your money I bought one for frount and back door and they aren't any better than a normal door mat, still muddy paw pints all over my floor.0

I have had cats my whole life and never even considered the idea of wipes for their feet, i will be giving it a go now. My one question is how do you catch them quick enough? My cats are in and out so much i am never quite sure where they are except when they all snuggle up for the night time.Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. It's quite easy to train cats that if they wait when they come in the door, they can get their paws cleaned with a nice warm dry towel.
Saves them the bother and cats are inherently lazy if they can find a human to do work for them.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0
