Halifax WEB SAVER questions

Hi, i opened a web saver (2.8%) a few months ago, but have not used it at all, except for the initial deposit (£50). I've almost received some money i've been waiting for, will collect the cheque for £160k in the morning. I intend to pay this into a Halifax branch immediately. I've got an an ISA with Halifax with £21k, and have used this years allowance. I need to move money fast, to keep within £85K limit.
Questions:
1/ What is the cheque clearance time for Halifax, 3 or 7 days?
2/ Do Halifax offer fast payments?
3/ Is there a limit on the amount of money i can move in one transaction?

And, can someone answer the same questions 2 & 3 in relation to Santander if i open a 3.1% account and move the money in there.
Thanks.

    Some answers:
Halifax offer faster payments. It may have changed but used to be limited to £2.5K.
With savings accounts, I think the maximum single transfer within Halifax is £20K.
Counter cheque limit is £250K (or more if you ask in advance).

I believe it's now £25K, following the change to LTSB systems.

Not tried the full £25K, but recently made an £18K payment by FP.

1/ 6 working days - if you're paying it into the Websaver, which is a savings account. 4 working days if you're paying it into a Halifax current account.

2/ Not from the websaver account.

    1. 4 working days (used to be 6 on savings accounts, but no longer).

    2. Yes on a current account. Sort of on a Web Saver account - if you post date the payment they often (but not always) go via FP. This should change very soon and full FP on Web Saver and Online Saver will be available.

    3. Limits in this link.

Is that a very recent change (solely) by Halifax?

12th September, when they jumped on to the joyous LTSB platform. Same for Bank of Scotland.

    I wish you luck.

I did something similar last month, transferring £75k from Halifax to Santander. Tried to send £20k and system blocked it as too much. Tried £10k - same. Tried £2.5k and this was fine, but then blocked as requiring checked before release. Phone call from Halifax meant it was cleared to go, so I logged back in and clicked accept. The transaction disappeared completely.

Cutting a long story short it took me 6 transactions to get all the money over and around half of them did this disappearing trick (so I suppose it was really 9 transactions!). During my last conversation with Halifax I was told I should have used my websaver account as the daily limit is £100k. I sent the final chunk via websaver and it transferred in 24 hours.
