Oooh goody!! Just turned 55 . . .AND I can take my 37 year old OH for the same price. Less of the ageist joking you lot!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I also think that 55 is not old and some of the comments re age are rather childish and certainly uncalled for, says a lot about the poster in my opinion.
Well done both of you.
These ageist comments are silly. If you're lucky you might all reach 55 one day and realise it's not that old after all.
Anyway, why would I want a one way fare?0 -

Ah, that sounds about right! Oasis are currently advertising 650HKD for over 55s (£42.50) and 1000HKD (£65.50) one-way fares for everyone in Hong Kong.

Agree re the ageist comments. It's amazing in this country how you cannot make jokes about peoples' ethnicity without having a whole raft of legislation falling on your head, but you can make some of the pathetic comments e.g.(flight smelling of pee), such as those which have been posted here, about people who have lived in the UK and paid taxes NI etc., all their lives. I blame the media and poor education standards myself, but are there any moderators on this thread? By the way, check out the stories about Oasis. You don't get such cheap fares without cutting corners. As someone who has spent most of their life in aviation, I wouldn't fly with them...0

Yes, it is. There are new laws to prevent you loosing out at work (and rightly so), so why should you get special discounts?0

The law to stop you loosing [sic] out at work doesn't work - trust me - I was made redundant three years ago, and haven't been able to get a job since, despite speaking three European languages fluently, and having a BSc.
Students get discounted travel - and rightly so - so why not older people?0 -
Interesting concept of over 50's ! I'm 57, born 1950, seventeen in 1967 - the year that brought you Sgt Pepper and the era that allowed you to wear what you like, grow your hair how you like and not have to listen to "light" music so you can have Oasis, The Arctic Monkies, Kaiser Chiefs, Muse etc. etc. By the way - what's this new "Bingo" game you're on about?
