High pitch dvd playback

Hello,

We have a computer connected up to a projector where I work and when dvds are played back the sound is of a much higher pitvh. Spoken words sound like the person has inhaled helium beforehand!

I have tried updating Windows Media Player and downloaded Realplayer, but the problem remains.

Does anyone have any ideas?!

Thanks.

  • Its the audio settings for playback or the audio on the DVD. DVD audio has higher sample rate (96khz) and is 24bit while CD quality is 44.1khz and 16bit. If the audio is 44.1khz or possibly 48khz and it's being played back at 96khz it will sound speeded up.

I imagine that somewhere you'll have a setting so it plays back the audio at the correct rate.
