Well had a nice suprise yesterday NOT!
received a letter saying all my CTC are stopping due to a different amount to what i told them in April.
the story is:
In April I phoned up and gave them earnings of £27688 for my husband and £3688 for me,my amount is low as I gave them the SMP figure I had got from April 2010-April 2011,you have to take off £3200 (9 months with £100 a week deducted per week) giving me this figure...I returned to work Jan 2011 and earnt £800 per month before tax so I was correct with my figures.....they are now saying I earnt £11,976 now where they have this figure from is beyond me as I only got off top of my head £498 SMP a month gross...I have lost my P60 (yes I know i am stupid) and dont know what to do as my place of work are being unhelpful saying they cant get a yearly figure up for these dates....
Can anyone please advise here? How can they be right?
i started Mat pay April 1st-Jan 1st then like I said three months of £800 so I thought was all correct,we are relying on the money we get at the moment and now I dont know what to do
kind regards

If you had the same employer all year all you have to do is look at the last payslip of the 10/11 tax year and take the gross pay to date and take off £100/week for the number of weeks you were on SMP.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. You can ring your local tax office and ask them to send you a letter showing how much you earned last year - only took them a few days to send mine (my employer was notorious for not sending pay slips etc). You could then send a copy of this to HMRC with a letter showing your calculation for mat leave (was it 39 weeks SMP? £3900 deducted from the final figure if so). I did this, but only because I'm over cautious....(erm, anal maybe....)0
