Kindle - does it display colour?

I'm thinking of purchasing the new Kindle, however I am unsure as to whether it is suitable for my purposes.
I plan to read many pdf documents which contain colour charts (line charts etc).
Two questions:
1. Does the Kindle display graphics in general? e.g just even black and white graphs
2. does the Kindle display colour graphs? e.g a line chart with several lines, each one a different colour
Many thanks!

In a word
NoI used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
Is that a no to both questions? i.e it doesn't display graphs and tables at all? even if the underlying document is a pdf?"To be ignorant of one's ignorance is the malady of the ignorant." Amos Bronson Alcott0

The Kindle only has a black and white display. No colour I'm afraid.0

It will display graphs etc in different shades of grey but no colour, there is a new Kindle coming soon that is more of a tablet and that will display in colour. The kindle is good for pdfs but not if you need to see the charts in full colour hope that helps.0

E-ink is currently b&w (including shades of grey) only for now. Colour e-ink has been worked on for some time but for now it's not quite there yet as the colours are very washed out. E-ink is what makes the battery last for ages on a reader (I get about 40 hours reading time on my K3 before it wants feeding) as it's not backlit and power is only used when the page changes. If you really need colour then you'll have to get a tablet but obviously the trade-off will be a much shorter battery life. The Kindle can display graphics but isn't the best for PDF because there's no text reflow. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0

The E-Ink display is also what makes the Kindle a very readable device. I wouldn't recommend considering another device with a traditional screen if you're looking to do a serious amount ofreading as there's no real match for E-Ink displays in that department.0 -
If you want a colour Kindle you will have to wait for the Kindle Fire.

you're preaching to the converted :rotfl: I read over 200 books a year and wouldn't consider anything other than e-ink for my e-reading
If the OP's primary use of the device is for PDFs with colour charts though, the Kindle may not be best suited. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
So is it any good for black and white tables containing numbers?"To be ignorant of one's ignorance is the malady of the ignorant." Amos Bronson Alcott0
