Aaaarggh! Frustrated over Brother printer issue!

Brother DCP120C.
I'm trying to print something and it's very, very faded. I changed all the ink even although some of the cartridges still had ink in them, cleaned the print heads and did the test print page (accessed from the printer itself) and the test page was lovely and clear.
However, I still can't print properly from the pc. All my pages come out very faded.
I uninstalled the printer, downloaded the most recent driver, re-installed the thing and I'm still getting faded pages!
Why?
What else can I try?
Edit: Just discovered it's ok printing from a Word Doc.....it just seems to be Paint that I can't print from. I have screenshots that I am trying to print out with no joy.

Do the screenshots have enough contrast? I have had cases where prints can look faded because they don't have a great deal of depth to them. This can be overcome in a couple of ways.
I expect you might have tried printing using the 'best quality' settings in the printer options? Other than that, it should be possible to open the screenshots in an image/photo editing program and enhance them in that. Something like 'Auto contrast' or 'Auto adjust' should do it. Try printing after that to see if it has helped.Error! - Keyboard not attached. Press any key to continue.0
