the way you are dealing with something that is obviously so so difficult is quite inspirational, especially to others who may be in similar situations. :grouphug:
I'm blushing
I've had no choice. No-one except my lurking mum knows what went on. No-one would believe what I've put up with. No-one who knew me years ago could imagine that I would put up with what I did but I was blinded by love. I see the good in everyone, I tried to be the best wife and step-mum I could be but I know now that I wasn't worth the dirt on the bottom of his shoe. I refuse to be bullied any more. I refuse to be a victim. I will never again allow anyone, never mind the father of my kids, to treat me like this. For some reason the ex thought my threats of walking away unless he changed were empty and would never be followed through. Well he was right because the decision for him to leave was taken out of both our hands but he knows now I meant what I said.
If I inspire people then I'm humbled but I'm only as strong as this because I've had the support of my parents and the love of my kids to help me through. It's not impossible, it's not easy and yes it can be damn lonely but you know what, I'll never be a doormat ever again and if I come across anyone who has a partner who has worn them down to such an extent (basically mental abuse) that they feel useless or worthless, I'll be round to give them a firm talking to. I do promise to bring glitched wine, custard and mince pies thoughI'd bring TCOs but I scoffed them all (I only had 3)

To all those that are in a bit of a fix at the mo, chins up. It might be a rollercoaster but youll get there in the end.
I had a twit of an ex who physically abused me as well as mentally. I went from bubbly to a recluse and feeling worthless. We had a little boy. The day came when enough was enough. I was working full time while he went out and claimed benefits and lived off me.
This was 12 years ago, my boy was 2. ex took me to court for residency. Refused, only access. We had to meet at police station because of the abuse id gone through. Went ok for a while but ex started to make demands. When i didnt bow to him like i used to he decided to use my son as a pawn.
After contact one weekend, he didnt bring him back. Had to go to court to get another order for the return. Took two weeks after locating them both.
New court order with less contact for ex.
Failed to return again a few days later as he accused my mom of hitting him, shes like a poodle, hes a bull terrier! Another court order for return
Lots of games where hed say he had waited for me and i didnt show...back to court....
Meantime, i met someone else and was pregnant, my eldest was 10 by now. I have elective c sections due to spinal fusions so the day of my operation, a friday, my ex texted to say he wasnt bringing son back.
Had op then signed myself out of hospital 2 days later, went to his house to get son with police as had a penal notice on order. Police could do nothing because if ex didnt let them in voluntarily they were trespassing!
Back to court. Return ordered.
My son was old enough to understand some bits and was always complaining that his dad was pressuring him to say he wanted to live with his dad.....
On my ds2 birthday, i went to get ds1 from his dads house, knocked on the door, son came out so did his dad, without talking to me he shouted really loud that id hit my son!
I couldnt believe it. He told my son to go back inside. He ranted at me so i called the police. They wouldnt atttend as they knew they couldnt do anything. Id have to wait 2 days for solicitors to be open. He was very clever, always doing things on a friday when offices and courts were closed.
To cut a long story a bit shorted. I was visited by police and social services who investigated. Took 19 months, during which time i was not allowed to see my son, his dad changed his school etc as court judge said with an accusation he wou,d be folish to allow my son back to me!
The ex got too big for his own boots in the end. I managed to get 1 hour weekly visits with son and socia services present. These were 4 hour car journey away. I did this every week for 3 months plus additional for court hearings phychologist reports etc to proove myself.
My ex made my son do weird stuff, ended up with him being out on child at risk register and being taken into care.
Some court dates were cancelled on the day as ex turned up but said he was ill, his human right meant he could not be forced to stay, so dates cancelled new dates set for weeks away. Then hed turn up and sack his barrister so without someone fighting his corner, court was again cancelled.....
In the end, my partner and i got full residence with letterbox contact for
dad and his family, once a month. No one has contacted my son for 9 months and he is now flourishing and sad to say, better off without his dad.
Suffice to say, i started smoking during that time, and grew strength i never knew possible. We all have it in us, just sad we have to find it sometimes.
Caz, this was a very extreme case and ex is now undergoing mental health rehab, i dont want to scare anyone, just show that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Im happier than i ever thought possible, and saving money thanks to you guys! Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -

All Health & Beauty gift sets half price from Tuesday 8th
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/health-beauty-gift-sets-half-price-tesco-from-tuesday-8th-until-mon-14th-nov-1054707
Noticed when doing my online shop - that from tomorrow selected health & beauty gift sets are half price in Tesco. These are the kind of gift sets that are usually in Boots 3 for 2 offer. I will be buying a few as presents for our extended family.
Lynx Gift set will be £3. The Lynx sets, for example, are £6 each in Boots 3 for £2. Or £5 each in Asda (2 for £8). So even if you're only buying 1 then you're making a saving.
For example:
Impulse Very Pink City Escape
Fruity Nail Varnishes
Spa Hand Duo
Lynx Africa Body Spray And Shower Gel
Spa Exfoliating Sugar Scrub
Lynx Excite Body Spray& Shower Gel
All Half Price - Was £6 Now £3
** It seems that there are lots and lots half price - all at various prices! Seems like every H&B gift set that Tesco sell will be Half Price from tomorrow. **
Oooh, are these sets not on 3 for 2 just now... possible glitch tomorrow??Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000
Current mortgage £28,0000 -
