My problem is now I unable to work my annual income prevents me from the better credit card deals, even Barclaycard who I joined when I started work and I have a humungous credit limit won't let me switch to one of their cards with better benefits.
On the subject of credit cards please please everyone no matter how broke you are always try & pay your credit card bills off every month NEVER just pay the minimum payment you'll end up in a terrible mess if you do that.
When I was working I had two jobs at once (tractor driver on a pipeline and working on a farm) and I was earning mega money and I had credit cards handed to me on a plate with stupidly high credit limits. When dad was alive he always saw that a reasonable amount was paid off the bills (I wasn't spending much anyway as I never had time too) then he died and it all went to pot. I must have ran up about 25k's worth of debt with no way to pay it.
It took years before a credit card company trusted me with a card again. I was in Shell filling up and I saw an advertisement for their card with Citi. It was a cashback credit card with a good amount of cash back for buying fuel at Shell. I thought "hmmm, would sure come in handy with running a V8 but they will never give me one" Anyway I went home and applied and to my surprise they accepted me:eek: so I thought "this time no messing around, to get the full benefit of the cash back I need to pay it off in full every month" which I did, then they started reducing my credit limit every few months. I had a friend that worked in a bank and he told me "yeah, they don't like people making money out of them, it's supposed to be the other way round which is why they are probably doing it." I have an RBS card now since Citi went ti ts up. Every 3 months I now let a little lie over to the next month and it seems to be keeping them happy.0 -

Hey! I'm doing the best I can;)I always feel that I have to read somethings several times before it sinks in. I'd be useless in an emergency situation. I'd probably be the one burned to death reading the emergency evacuation procedure in a hotel room:rotfl:
I can't tell you how many times I've deen the life jacket routine on a plane at least 30 I would guess, I'm sure if it came to it I'd never be able to get it on or find the whistle & the torch0 -
Happy - I'd like you to keep your jokes coming but maybe not as many! You always delete them if someone doesn't like them but maybe you should stop posting ones that you think may offend. As for this not being Cbeebies, sometimes I think it is!
Sometimes I don't know what's going to offend and what's not. Obviously the best the jokes are the ones that come close to the edge, so to speak.0 -

Do you have an XBox ? We bought my Mum various DVD sets for birthdays & Christmas and some of the discs don't work on the DVD so nephew has to lug his XBox down on a Saturday afternoon so she can watch them while I'm at football
Nah, I'm not in to computer games at all. I don't even have a TV. I watch DVDs on my laptop and the CD drive is a bit fussy but it manages 9 out of every 10 discs but the disc it wouldn't play tonight was badly scored.0 -
Artha...how is your knee?
If I remember correctly, you mentioned a few weeks back that you had suffered an injury to it...
