Looked like the toy aisle had been given a good going-over, biscuits all correct price, no dtd chicken, no knives, no Andrex, Kellogs £1 and empty shelf...two brand new scanners and neither works ... The clothes were all current lines, as expected. I could however console myself with a few Toy Story bags, so not a wasted trip

As I was walking out tonight there was a man slightly in front of me and the alarms went off, I stopped and he slowed down, security man was hot on our heels but approached him, asking if he would walk back through alarm thing, he said it was her(me) and was going off as he went through. without being asked I said I havent bought anything that expensive - croissants and scarves without tags so I will walk back through, which I did and no alarm. The man still refusing to walk back in said I haven't stolen anything so I'm not going to - I watched for 5 mins or so coz he had accused me and my dd was with me and had got a bit upset at being accused of setting off alarm. Upshot was he said no and was allowed to walk off - fairplay to him if he hadnt done anything and stood his ground but wish he hadnt brought me into it as my 6yr was really distressed about it. On the off chance tho that he was up to no good - can you really just say no and walk off?
hiya
i worked in retail for 5 years and it was a well known trick for shop lifters to walk through at the same time as other people so he probably used you as a distraction sounds that way as he was so quick to blame you !!
sometimes it worked in reverse and plain clothed security would walk through with a tag at same time as someone they suspected as an excuse to stop them too .
sorry your 6 year old was distressed mate that awful !!
to me it sounds like he has something to hide as anyone innocent would just nip back through and not blame others and make a scene !
he should not of been allowed to walk away and if he would not walk back through the police should of been called to search him
if i were you i would either complain to the store manager or send an email as the security job did not do his job well and your child is left upset by it !! if they just let everyone walk away there would be no benefit to security systems and them paying security guards !
dont think tesco security are the best saw them stop 3 people and accuse them of shop lifting in front of everyone and then let them go !! surely they should be taking them into and office and calling the police !! i think they waste too much time trying to work us mse lot out :rotfl:
hope you get an explantion hun and appology from someone and your child forgets all about it xxx0
