Someone may have beaten me to it & I posted this last night, the way the ad is worded & I don't have it in front of me, its not selected stores it says something like not available in all stores, its the fact that some stores eg smaller ones couldn't offer it because they don't stock gift sets.

I have the ad, it says:

    buy any 3 gifts
    and get the cheapest free
    from 1st November 2011 to 3rd January 2012
Subject to availability. Selected UK stores only

Nope, it would cause an absolute riot! Look at what happened when Tesco did the £1 clothing sale recently. People banned from stores, punch ups in the aisles and people grabbing trolley fulls of stuff.

Can you imagine the mayhem if they broadcast to the general public that they have an instore sale of shoes and dressing gowns etc for 4p each? It'd be like walmart with people getting shot! :rotfl:

Tesco top brass are very cute here. They have warehouses full of stuff to shift and KNOW they have a savvy clientelle (they read places like MSE all the time afterall) and so quietly let this stuff dribble out for pennies. Have you ever considered how sooo many things scan for 4p but DO NOT show up as 4p for price integrity ticketing???

The top brass don't care if the staff squirrel it away, if the customers 'find' it, or if the managers have it auctioned for charity, provided the old stock is all disposed of and all done low key so Tesco do not have to acknowledge loads of UNSOLD OLD STOCK then they are happy.

Tesco clothing online carries new stock lines hence why there are no 4p items there.

Come on, its not rocket science! ;)
Agree. There is no way that the market leading grocery retailer has had such apparently inefficient systems and such shrewd management to allow this to go on for at least the 7or 8 years that I know of. The accountants probably take care of the apparent losses to get tax relief or some other sort of offset

Ah I think I've just worked out what HO mean when they say they are contacting their supplier re the 3 for 2 and half price offers running together. In the top left hand corner of the ad in the t's magazine, it says unilever.
So i'm guessing they might be the suppliers that t's are talking about :)

Just back in, had a lovely night with an old friend who's more like a second Mum to me but I was getting texts all night from one of the family who lives at the other end of the country almost starting an argument with me, not looking forward to sorting that out tomorrow.

If anyone is still up I need a BIG hug, okay if I can find out where I was up to this afternoon, I'm going to catch up with everyones day. I hope there's a new 4p boxers pic from Mr March.

I'm still awake:) so big hugs from me!! <3<3<3 Hope everything works out tomorrow with your family member:( i'm sure it'll be fine, if not you've got cyber friends!
    Anyway, i'll sum up what you've missed:);

    Good evening/morning.
I'm not sure if this has been posted before, i bought Finish Quantum Powerball 60 tabs mega value dishwasher tablets for £4.50, huge pallet at the end of the isle, not the major glitch but i think it is a good price and someone might benefit from this offer.

    Hi All,
I would like to announce myself. I am Vikki, f, 29 years old from SE coast, no kids (unless you include the 2 dogs) and what you would call a lurker although this is not intentional. I work 12 hours a day including my commute and hardly have time to check this website and when I do am usually 30 posts behind. I do 'profit' from any bargains you post but I certainly leave items on the shelf for others to benefit too. I also have, whenever I discover a bargain, posted it in here too. If you wanna check, I recently posted one about cheap red leceicester cheese on here and not the main site. I can see the community spirit on here and so want to join in, the problem is when I want to I am days behind. xx

However I have found 1 glitch that will not benefit any one too much. The Nestle Caranation Rice Pudding Dessert mix various flavours is b1g1f i bought 2 @ 79p & @ 2 @ 85p and it gave me 1 @ 79p off and 1@ 85p off instead of 2 x the 2 cheapest free

BecauseICan, you were the one who took so many items from one store, at one time, regardless of the reason you did so.

As you say, I do not know the circumstances, likewise, you know very little about most peoples circumstances on here.

    So, judge not yourself.
