well well well, not on topic but i am all proud of myself. my old coat from mr t about three years ago is overdue replaced but we just cant afford even the 20 they are at the moment so i have made a chunky scarf chunky gloves and a chunky hat to spruce it up a bit, decided it wasnt enough so i have made a broach type thing to sew onto the torn part of it and now its like a new coat. no need for spending 20 on one im well impressed, now im going to see what i can do with dd3's coat, i think its going to come to looking for the 4p ones because its falling to bits.0

Is it actually illegal for them to sell 4p items at the tills? I am pretty sure a few of the young males in my local wouldn't give a hoot ! But if they've been told not to then its not worth it ! Its just i'd hate to find the wee coats and then have them taken from me at ss !
Not sure why it would be illegal??
To be honest, I am of the opinion that the trouts that are confiscating the items are actually taking them to buy themselves.
HO have deliberately lowered the prices of the old stock. They need to clear warehouse space for Christmas, so 4p is better than nothing, and thats ignoring the extra 'bits' we all pick up while we're there, even if it is just to pad out the shopping baskets lol.
i think any illegal action isnt on the shoppers side!
Embaressing child story- took my DS to the cinema to watch toy story 3 when it first came out. Long queue. Very busy. My son, 5 or 6 at the time, big voice 'Mum, can I have some cockporn'. I choked and pretended it was nothing to do with me...
'MUM, can i have some cockporn?? You give it me at home and I like it, so can I have some here please'
Obviously it suddenly goes deathly quiet and I have a million or so eyes on me
I managed to mutter "He means POPCORN, he got his letters the wrong way round!", before everyone bursts out laughing.
I'm just glad it was dark in the theater so I could keep my head down!!! lol xx0 -
Sorry, tried to post a pic of batteries that I got yesterday but won't let me because I'm a newbie.:(
They are Duracell Power Pix in a blue and yellow pack for digital cameras but you can use them in anything.
I could only get them in AAA but there are AA out there as well.:oI love to help people by sharing my bargains:o0 -

Meant to add as well, I went to a store this afternoon thats scanner is out of order.I went to get a pricecheck at the electrical counter and the lady said sorry it's not on file, so I said to her do you mean its 4p!!! She went bright red and stuttered and said yes. Well I hadnt actually given it to her to scan I'd held it up while she scanned it so I promptly dropped it back in my basket and quickly paid at the self scanner and left, so it just proves that these SA's are more than a bit dodgy:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:For Czerchy & Qpranger it was BB;)
i envy u for being strong and standing up to her about the 4p :T...wish i can be like that
been to she4ton ma77et store...everything's aw11...even the ones with rtc are selling on that price...all the scarfs are aw11 too..the kelloggs variety are £1..colas are £1.99 and 2 for 3.50..no toys,no trays...even the pukka pads are scanning at the right price..no chicken..the prawns are scanning right and there's no tiramisu
the worst of it all...i managed to get 2 familiar vests and they scanned at 4p...i only got 2 but at the till...it probably showed something coz the sa called for another and changed it to £4...so i just cant say anything but accept itnow i have 2 vests to return..i am not coming back to that store...im getting really bad at this

they were on a big pallet in our store as you go in next to the big pallets of cerial conveniently hiding the one shelf i actually wanted, took great pleasure in telling the lady i wanted the knitting mag on the top shelf of the isle behind that pallet and with my baby bump there was no way i was able to squeeze in to get it.0

I seen a few pink girls coats today AW10 - they were shiny pink - and padded. They were beside the boys rain coats both at the back of the rail filled with new stock. I only noticed as I lifted the wrong label to check the back. I never scanned them as I only have boys - but maybe worth keeping a wee eye out - they were nicely padded! I look for you tommorrow and see what they scan at !0 -
