Welcome;) The wifi is some T's are offering free wifi, and some MSE'ers have thought about using T's instore display computers to access MSE to check things;) !

I might be naughty and put the tesco misprices thread on all the laptops on my local T's. That would be sooooo funny! :D

Edit: Meant to say this is my suggestion for page 1, not another rant!

Yes, you read right, this is yet another Tesco bargain/glitch/DTD/misprice thread
Yes, we know it's in the 'Gone but not forgotten' section
Yes, we know there are at least 2 other threads in which we could post
Yes, we do talk a lot
No, not all of what we say is Tesco related or even of interest to many others but this is the way this thread has formed

Many of us want to discuss the various deals to be had but this was not appreciated on the main Grabbit forum. As such, we now use this thread to talk about anything from how to cook a baked potato to how to get 1p or 4p items through self-scan as quick as possible. We also discuss ex-husbands, kids and animals. If you have a medical problem we'll nag you until you go to the doctor. If you're not feeling well we'll provide support, a wee hot drink and whatever chocolate is currently glitching to cheer you up.

And finally, yes we know that some people try to obscure the store names but this works both ways. It might make it difficult for those who don't have the time to sit here and natter all day but it also makes it difficult for staff/managers to quickly identify any issues at their store. We do try to post new deals in bold but it depends on the poster if they remember. We don't like arguing so we're not going to take umbridge if one or two deals slip through.

Now sit back, relax and feel free to join in. We don't bite (unless you ask nicely), we will help wherever possible and you don't have to post new deals just to feel like part of the group.

I'm going searching for one of those tomorrow is that the actual name just a Light Strike is it suitable for 6 year old ?

got one in Wemb*ey last night, lots on the shelf, all nicely stickered ;)
Oh and I forgot to tell the story: I had two big(ish) dtds there last month both with the same CS guy... So I looked who's at CS when entering the store and there were two ladies so off I go to get 3 different dtd items all with stickers... paid without problems(well, SA shouted "60 quid! what is it?!" "just a xmas gift" :o) so off I go looking terrified at my receipt ;) and the CS is unmanned with someone waiting there... after a few minutes the same CS guy comes to serve us!:eek::eek: So I'm thinking "well at least I won't need to remind him of dtd policy" and I had to! I went to him and said "your half price sale doesn't seem to work as I have been charged full price for those xmas gifts" and he tried to do refund and resell them at half price! So I reminded him it should be dtd and he called a manager to authorize and a nonfood member of staff(who never arrived ;) so the stickers might be there)
Manager came, looked at the stickers, looked at my receipt, shrugged her shoulders and went off(the CS guy considered it as authorized!) so I stopped her and complained about the scanners and that I was unable to check the prices of the toys... she said that sometimes they don't show half price offers(sure! and then we get dtd because the till doesn'e show them either!:p), I explained her better how they don't work, she noted something down on her piece of paper and went off... Funny how I thought I know more about T then she does... :rotfl:
I wonder if the real reason for the store names being obscured might be more to do with not wanting other money-savers to dare to trespass on "your patch"? (Don't bother by the way, it's rhetorical - the defensive nature of the responses makes the answer quite clear!)

Thank you - nice to have one personal prepared to behave decently and give a straight answer to a straight question. Still interested to know why everything can't go on one thread though? This one is rather "hidden away" being with the expired stuff.

Try checking out the legal definitions of fraud. The word "intent" also has bearing here - you are going out with intent to gain from Tesco's mis-pricing. The active searching out of the deals could potentially be an issue. My comment was posted as genuine, well meaning advice as nobody else seems to have thought of this yet although the free wi-fi has been mentioned. Considering how (rightly) cynical the majority of posters on here are with regards to Tesco's motives and policies, do you REALLY think they have provided the free wi-fi connection out of the goodness of their hearts, with absolutely nothing to gain from it and no thoughts of how it can be used to their benefit?!

If I was working for Tesco's legal team, this thread would be extremely interesting, obscured store names or not.....

Thanks to those who were prepared to give pleasant responses - your input is appreciated.

We used to be on the main board but we like to chat and people were complaining so we've been moved here... it's not that we want to hide(however I think most of us prefers it by now-less complaining) and all newbies are always welcome as long and they don't come on here with the intention to cause arguments... the coded store names were explained already and we always help if anyone asks but we're not happy to hand out everything on a plate...

re the wifi: I think you could be right but I don't think T would fight with us about a 4p item(priced by them) or 40 quid dtd(their policy)
