When I gave them a second look I noticed they were Y-fronts in a loud green colour with aliens all over them. In my haste to find 4p items I've totally started buying any old garbage... 4p is all they are worth, they are minging! :rotfl:
Give him some of the purple tights too, I'm sure he'd look great and green and purple don't clash.............too much!0 -
Fudge_Cake wrote: »I do agree with you French Knickers. I have to say I have only had 1 dtd but I got so nervous, I would find it impossible to claim dtd on multiple items. It would scare me senseless! Having said that I can understand to some extent why people push the boundaries, I'm not saying it's right or that I agree with it, because it's a sure fire way to get the policy pulled but if you knew you could walk out of the shop with say £100 worth of items free, you can see the appeal. I can only relate to the subject with whoopsies....often there's things there that I buy just because they're 10p etc....and then I get home and think what on earth?!! I know it's completely different but I think we all know the buzz you get when you feel you've got a MASSIVE bargain! Again as I said, I would never be able to do it myself and I think there is too much abuse of dtd but sometimes I can't help but be jealous of these amazing freebies people get! :A
I can associate with every word of that.
It is a tricky balancing act and trying to keep the worst of our greed in check and it's easy sometimes to get carried away in the moment.
I'm not critical of people who actively chase glitches or clearance reductions and hit them to the max, but I see abuse of DTD like walking in and sticking two fingers up to the staff. Its hardly any wonder trouts are becoming more abundant in store. Can you imagine some of the locker room discussion involving some of the refunds given and often to the same old faces. Many staff are now savvy and see us as potential competition.
The same happened with tesco CC points, its was a few who went mad who alerted tescos to just how daft their system was. Same happened too with the use of money off coupons when you didn't buy the product. I argued recently on another thread that DTD would probably not get pulled, but now I think it will. It'll be sad when it happens but hey ho.
Enough of that anyway, it wasn't my intention to angle my angst directly at the person who got a good DTD tonight, it was just a generalised rant, so apologies to them if I caused offence.
As regards the extra money on the card. Legally I guess its yours, and tesco are unlikely to chase you for it. Morally? Well thats entirely up to you I guess.0 -
Well I am back, 2 hours queuing for Modern Warfare 3 it was actually really really fun
Also picked up 2 packets of the dormen pistachio nuts for 75p each. Oh now owes me big time!
Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end0 -
Phew..... just caught up again
Note to self..... make sure you write description of new items posted as you are catching up with thread...... instead of just scribbling down barcodes and what they are scanning at
I'm off to bed now.... night all
Sleep tight x
I saw your update on your DTD by the way. Time to write an email to philip clarke now I think. HO are way out of line too. let me get this right, NATIONAL COMPANY policy is to give DTD on ANY overcharge but they are saying if one of their store managers totally ignores NATIONAL policy they won't override it?
More waffle than McCains!!!
Don't let this lie, they owe you! Bottom line is I will nag you to death if you don't! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
bensonsmum wrote: »Littlelost - you really shouldn't worry, you personally have done nothing wrong.
A month or so ago i got DTD on the kitchen scales and when i put my card in to get a refund the SA said there was something wrong with her till and would i mind taking cash instead as she couldn't get it to refund me on my card - No problem i said, approx one week later i got my bank statement and on it the transaction had worked and she had put the money back on my card, and she had also given it to me in cash, I had in no way tried to dupe Mr T into doing this and im sure that if Mr T knew about this and wanted to contact me he could as he had my cc details. So please don't worry xxx
The 1968 Theft Act says "A person is guilty of theft if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it".
It goes on to say "A person is guilty of an offence if - (a) a wrongful credit has been made to an account kept by him or in respect of which he has any right or interest; (b) he knows or believes that the credit is wrongful; and (c) he dishonestly fails to take such steps as are reasonable in the circumstances to secure that the credit is cancelled."
That seems a bit worrying but as it has happened to you with no comeback and Tesco seem to be very inefficient then it is unlikely to be followed up for such a relatively small amount. The above situation tends to be associated with people who find that money has been mysteriously deposited in their bank account (bank errors) and decide to spend it assuming it is theirs.Awaiting a new sig0 -
