Hi all
We have just taken approx 800 dvds out of their cases and put them on spindles to save some room, as we were transferring them I wrote them all down and am going to type them into ms word 2003 and list them alphabetically so we know where to find each one. Will I also be able to number each one as I am curious as to how many there actually is? If so how do I so it as I am just a basic word user.
Many thanks Louise

Highlight everything CTRL+A then right click select Numbering0

Word 2003
Top drop down named Format, on mine it's the fourth from the left
Bullets and numbering
Numbered
Type in name press return will go to a new line with the next number
I would use excel
Different column headings
Album name, artist etc
You could then sort by any column0 -
You do realise you can also sort in Word? And in up to three columns?0

If you have already typed them in highlight them all (Control+a) and follow SteveJW's instructions above.
To alphabetically order them:
Highlight them all (Control+a) then Select from the menu bars Table> Sort. Sort by paragraphs and ascending should already be selected.
Even though it's not a table it still sorts.
The numbering adjusts to suit.
Hints:
Try it with just a few in the list to start with.
I would use artist first, then a tab, then album title. This allows for easy coversion to table or import into Excel at a later date
