Out of curiosity, what is the earnings limit for claiming WTC?

What is the most you can earn before you are no longer entitled. Is it £13,000?

According to the tax tables you will still get £10 as a single person or £1,965 if you are a member of a couple on £13,000.BrettMorganxD wrote: »What is the most you can earn before you are no longer entitled. Is it £13,000?

Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

Ok thank you.
I will ask another question on this same thread, as people have pointed out to me it annoys them when I start new ones.
If i was to claim WTC as a person with a disability do WTC people get in touch with your employer when you try to claim them? Telling your employer how much WTC you will get, when you will get them, and what disability you have got?0 -
the cutoff is higher if you have a disability, you also only need to work 16 hours rather than 30

Looks like you need to be in receipt of DLA or other disability benefits to qualify

It depends what elements of it you entitled to. If you know what elements you are entitled to, add them, divide the total by 0.41, and add 6420. That's the income limit. Elements here:

But you don't have a disability..........Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

WTC for single people with no children is usually for those age 25+. If you did have a disability, I don't know if you could claim it at an earlier age, but another poster with more knowledge should be able to clarify this.0

And do the tax credits people phone up your employer and say "your employee has started claiming tax credit, for such and such reason of such and such amount" or do they keep it confidential. I know you can get proof of employment through a payslip but I thought they might tell your workplace as well as a formality.
Second thing, are tax credits paid weekly, fortnightly or monthly?0 -
Don't think they inform your employer but I imagine since the payment is £10 per year for £13k it would be paid in a lump sum0

Ok. Does anyone else know if working tax credit informs your employer, because when I looked it up I couldn't find anything, but it states working tax is paid part of your pay packet. So im presuming your employer would be informed?0
