Can anyone help? I have just started claimimg working tax. I am doing 17 hours a week, but slightly confussed as my hours sometimes are 18 instead of 17 and I have claimed JSA income based half of the year so when it comes to my renewal does Jsa count as income as it shows on my pay slip along with how much I've erned for the year,Will it be on my P60 when I renew and what happens If I exceed my income of 5000 this year which I estimate I would earn this year,so confussed?

I believe JSA does count as income for tax credits - when you gave your estimated earnings you should have included any JSA that you know you have already received.0

Taxablle contribution based JSA counts, income based JSA doesn't:

Thanks, It dosent look like it does count, only contribution Jsa counts and I was on income based but why is it showing on my pay slip as amount earned this year along with my 6 weeks worth of wages total? Will it show on my P60 as I was told that was the amount I had to submit when Renawl is due?0

The P60 should show "income from this employment" as well as total including previous earnings. You should declare "income from this employment".
It's included in your taxable to date on your payslip because it's taxable and so you pay the right tax over the year.
It's yet another inconsistency between the tax credits rules and income tax rules just to keep people on their toes.0 -
Thank you so much I think I now understand how it work
