Mp4 4gb player on EBAY!

Beware of MP4 players on EBAY some say they are 4gb but actualy 1gb, this is if you are lucky to recieve one.

Just won a bid on one, paid for it and the member has cancelled his membership with EBAY. paid by paypal but will have to wait 2 weeks to see if it turns up.

Can't understand why there are so many fraudsters on EBAY, you have to vertify yourself with bank details so how do they get away with it!

(most EBAYers are genuine and honest)

If you havent received it how do you know its 1gb instead of 4gb ?

Looks like someone didn't check feedback before bidding...

And the sellers are usually in the Far East too.

The problem with ebay or at least the percived problem with ebay is that people often misleadingly think that ebay buying is a similar 'beast' to any high street shop or online e-company (ebay would certainly like everyone to think it is) it is of course nothing of the sort.

You have to be careful, you have to see where the item comes from, who is selling and why. Are they a shop, a sole trader or just 'jo public'? Do this with every single auction you bid on.

I got a 4Gb MP4 player from the Far East and havnt had a problem. I set a low price I was willing to pay and refused to go over it. Items from the Far East normally are sold in bulk so you can watch multiples of the same item and bid accordingly.

I checked all the usual details and the player arrived fine..its way better than an Ipod for features but not build quality but I dont expect much from it. 6-12 months is fine by me as it was very, very cheap.

Now, how many more ebay rip off threads are we going to get!

The member has probably been BANNED by ebay.
They get away with it because very few people go to the police. The worst that happens is they get banned and then they just open a new account.

Ive seen MP4 players turn up on there for 99p with free delivery from china, I dont trust them.

I take it from your reply that the sale of goods/trade description acts do not apply on ebay?
Still curious as to why you would give somebody positive feedback if the goods you recieved were not what you were led to believe from the description given.Surely that is fraud.

I've bought one of these cheap Ipod Nano clones before and after a month or so the headphone socket (which doesn't fit normal head phones) went. Tried to repair it but it went soon afterwards and ended up throwing it in the bin.
