  • i chose the 3 network when i got my contract,

best move i made in a long time, they have been brilliant, never had a problem with signal strength,

also i signed up for an 18month contract (yes i know its a long time) but i got a free phone (motorola V3x) which has been brilliant, and half price line rental for the ENTIRE length of the contract, the contract is £30 a month and they CREDIT my account with £15 every month just before my bill comes through, no claiming the money back nonsense, also i got 6months double talk and text, meaning my standard 300 mins and 1000 text was infact 600mins and 2000 texts (just ran out though :-() also i get a free £5 worth of downlaods every month (for games, ringtones, etc...) and free barclays premiership football highlights (never used it though!) oh i forgot i also get 50- free mms messages and 60mins of video calling free!

as i say i think they are brilliant! my phone bill has only been over £15 once (i used my phone abroad) as i get loads of free cross network minutes and a stupid amount of texts!

    hope this helps

We've used them twice before with no problems - although I can't comment on their current reliability as the last contract was a few months ago now.

I'll also vouch for BuyMobilePhones's cashback scheme. I got an 18month contract (15 months free via cashback) with them with free orange broadband as it was over £30 a month. They were the only dealer outside orange themselves who seemed able to arrange the free broadband deal (but orange soon put a stop to that). Having said that I cancelled the free broadband because it was too slow in my area (getting 13mb via Sky).

Got my first cashback in December after posting the bills in October. It takes them about two months to process but that is indicated in their T&C & they did cough up without prompting and sent me email confirmation.
Remember though they want your ORIGINAL bills, not photocopies and you have to send them off sharpish (within 2 weeks of bill date) with a copy of the cashback voucher email. Always use first class registered signed for as a minimum! Re-read their current T&C for your contract anyway, just in case it's changed.....

My only neg was the actual phone they sent me (Motorola L6) was in a tatty box and looked like a refurb. Couldn't be bothered to send it back as I only wanted the contract so I could put the sim in my other phone.

I have used BMP without problems for my own contract, got cash back cheques without fuss. Then applied for cashback contract for my mother, we went for T mobile. Unfortunately there is no signal at her own house! When I rang T Mobile for advice they said they wouldn't have sold her a contract because of poor signal in her area, by this time we were tied into a 12 month contract! Horefully if we get the cash back successfully at least it won't cost her anything (I use the phone now) but it has been inconvenient. So when buying off any retailer ring the network direct and check signal strength in your area is my advice.
  • See http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=155535&highlight=buymobilephones for more mixed opinions on bmp - although personally I've always done o.k. with them.
  • i used this site a couple of weeks ago, the deal was i got a LG Optimus gt540 on orange dolphin 20 just over £20 a month with a free gift of a 50" TV, a few days after placing my order my wife was checking our bank statements online to find they had took £499 from my account, i obviously phoned them straight away to ask why, the reply i got was the £499 was towards my free gift, i then asked how then can it be a free gift the answer to that was and i quote '' do you really expect us to supply you with a mobile phone and a free 50" Tv for nothing, i argued the toss for around an hour getting nowhere, its now over 2 weeks and as it stands i received the phone but I'm £499 down and no sign of the TV, ive phoned a few times now to see when ill receive the TV to be told each time they are sorry but at the moment its out of stock. if anyone decides to use this company i would read every little dot and dash about the contract, also phone first to make sure the deal you see on the web site is actually the deal you will get. personally ill never use this company again, and if the TV doesn't arrive ill certainly be seeking legal advice. Another case of someone not paying attention to detail or expecting something for nothing. Does anybody seriously expect to get a airtime contract plus a free mobile plus a free 50" TV for £20/month, thats £240/year, £480 in 2 years, get real. When ordering it shows your phone/tarrif/line rental/free gift and on low rental contracts shows the "phone price" in the right hand column. Either you are totally inept or are just a trouble making time waster. I do not know the current financial position of this company but have used them for many years with free gifts, auto cashback and cashback by redemption and have never had a single problem.
