Unable to open Mozilla

Hi,
Am using Compaq CQ61 laptop running W7 (home premium)
For 2 days now, unable to load Mozilla - never had this issue before.
The program does open for a second, but then I just get the usual
message about sending the crash report.
The only weird thing that happened prior to this issue, was a pop up about 'LAME MP3 CODEC'?

The other users on the laptop have not had this issue & can still access Mozilla
I have tried using IE to re-install Mozilla but the download gets so far & then I get an error message & have to cancel the installation
I have been able to start Mozilla in safe mode, but unsure what to do when i'm there!
Can anyone help, as IE is horrible!
