purchased a car from carcraft with service history was told that thay was waiting for the history to arive then was told it was lost but as it was volkwagen serviced that thay will get history from them now thay say go and buy a service book yourself and send them the bill and thay will stamp the book when the car is serviced

Do you have anything in writing to confirm that service history was available for the car, and the price you paid included this history? If not, and you have some other tangible proof, then you may have a chance, but it is likely to be an uphill struggle.

If the car was dealer serviced, VW will have an electronic record which they might let you have, or which you could use to nicely ask the previous servicing dealer(s) to retrospectively stamp your new book. Try VW customer services - they're usually helpful in my experience

yes have paper saying car has history also car developed faults within days
