Kelkoo Select Offer - Ministry of Paintball. Misleading offer

Ok so i'm organising a social event for my work and I saw a couple of months ago an offer on Kelkoo Select (first link when you google "kelkoo select ministry of paintball")

So I bought 10 of these offers - it all looked good there was a paintball site close by in London Bridge and a comedy club just up the road in Camden.

However I have had two issues with the offer. Firstly despite advertising the offer as available at all 120 locations, I phoned up to book at London Bridge - only to be told it had closed dow. They continued to advertise it on their website until I contacted them to complain. There response was apologetic but simply listed the closest sites to us (all 10+ miles away so not feasible). Although the person who replied encouraged me to reply with any more questions I got no more correspondance from him or anyone else at the MOP.

So we've been unable to take up this offer. However have taken them up on the comedy part of the offer, although again not without problems. Although not mentioned anywhere on the offer link or in e-mails I phoned up and was told I had to pay a £1.50 booking fee per person. Again I objected and talked to two people both who just insisted I had to pay.

So from what I thought was going to equate to 1.50 each for a comedy ticket and a paintball ticket has equated to £3.00 each just for comedy. May not sound like much but I still feel cheated.

Do I have any chance of getting any form of money back?

I hope not, sounds like you clearly knew the price and availability before committing to the order. You should have voted with your feet if you wasn't happy

I wasn't aware of the fact the London Bridge paintball site would be unusable. Nor that we would have to pay a booking fee on top of the ticket price for the comedy. Didn't have much choice it was either pay an extra £1.50 per person or waste the tickets I'd already purchased..

I've spent hours furiously researching Ministry Of Paintball (MOP) following being ripped-off by their sales guys in a shopping centre.

Here are the facts; Ministry of Paintball do not own or run any paintball venues themselves (although they lead you believe this). They are a marketing company that ride on the back of reputable paintball companies.
They sell tickets that appear super cheap (or even give them away) because all they are interested in is your £11.50 per player to cover your 1st 100 paintballs.

You then pay through the nose for extra paintballs on the day at the paintball site who until you arrive have seen none of the money you've spent on buying the tickets or of the £11.50 per player.

I looked in to how much my ridiculously expensive day would have cost me if I'd have booked directly with the paintball site and I would have saved £170 over our group of 8 as I'd have been able to book an inclusive full day package that included a reasonable amount of paintballs.

What a disgrace that this scam is targeted at mostly naive teenagers or parents like myself.

  • Wish I'd known all this week ago. Have been completely mislead by MOP:

    1) They promised a saving of £400 - this is NOT true since the tickets are available on line for the same price.

2)When I discovered that after paying £80, "ADDITIONAL" costs were £604, I decided to return them within the 7-day cooling off period.

3)(Unfortunately) on the 7th day, (prepared to courier them to the address if necessary) I rang the office and talked to a charming young man who said I was the customer, I had the right to change my mind and that of course I would get a refund, there was no need to courier, they would refund me if I posted them that day. ******MISINFORMATION AGAIN*****

They have since told me my return arrived too late. I was prepared to fight on - but it sounds like I am onto a loser. Has anyone claimed any money back?
