s-video pc to tv problem

hello

please can anyone help

i want to conect my pc to my tv, i have a tv out in the form of s-video.
when i connect to the tv i get a picture and can see everything......BUT.... its all black and white!!:confused:

help

how do i get colour

    Have you tried a different cable? Sounds like the Luminance signal is fine but the Chroma is broken.

    This sounds like one of two of the classic problems....

    1) You are connecting via s.video cable but either the laptop or TV is set to composite and the other to s.video signal type - this will result in B&W

    2) Your TV is set to PAL format but the laptop is outputting NTSC (the USA tv format). Most modern TVs can accept PAL or NTSC but some you have to select which it is, alternatively check the laptop settings.

    Get the same with my camcorder to TV.

    Press the AV button on the TV handset a few times to scroll through. For example AV1 will be video, AV2 will be ntl / sky, AV3 will be S-video.
