I have to say that customer service isn't one of the main reasons I shop on the web - it tends to be indifferent at best in my experience. So instead of my usual moaning, it's nice to be able to say something nice about a web retailer for a change. So here goes:
Last week I ordered a copy of Karine Polwart's 'Faultlines' CD from Play, unfortunately when it arrived a few days later the digipak sleeve was empty! One very short phone call later I was, without any hassle, promised a new copy which duly arrived three days later. Fair play indeed...
Oh, and in case any of you were wondering - it's a great CD!

I've found Play very good as well. The post in our area is atrocious and things often misteriously "disappear". I've had couple orders simply never arrive, even though according to Play's records they have been sent, but they always just send it out again.
Does anyone else find Amazon atrocious?! Whenever I order from them its always out of stock (despite being "in stock" when I order) and takes months to arrive.0 -
Play are the most reliable and quickest of the Jersey based suppliers with CD Wow in there as well.0

There's always a bad story for every good one !
I had a complete nightmare before Christmas trying to buy 2 books from Play. I ordered at the end of November thinking that gave me plenty of time. Two weeks later and still no books, so I emailed and they offered to resend them. Still plenty of time before Christmas so I agreed.
A week before Christmas, still no books, still not dispatched, and shown as out of stock on their website, so I rang to cancel. Spoke to some guy who was far more interested in the amount of hours he'd had to work than my annoyance at not receiving my order, but he agreed to refund and took my card details and said he'd do it immediately. Happy with this I then ordered from Amazon costing me more.
The next afternoon I received an email from Play telling me that my order has now been sent
Of course the inevitable happened and BOTH orders arrived 2 days later. I agreed to return and refund with Play, and sent the books back.
A few weeks later and they email me to say that they have refunded me. However what they'd done was refund me for just one of the books, and not my postage as agreed. It took a further week before I was fully refunded.
I'd always heard good things about Play up until then, but I'm not keen on them now !0 -

A big thumbs up from me too, I ordered Broken Sword from them when it was on special offer at £7.49, what with decorating etc I didn't even open the packaging until 2 weeks later. Although it was sealed there was a disc missing when I opened it.
I rang them on Thursday and they promised to send me another copy and said it would arrive within 3 to 5 working days. It arrived this morning.
A pat on the back to Play.comOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
