Credit Card Payments and FPS

I have just been reading about the Faster Payments Service and used their sort code checker to check if my card providers accepted faster payments.
It turns out Capital One and Aqua both accept faster payments, I usually pay both of these using their payment systems online, which takes 2 to 3 days for the payment to be credited.
I am now wondering if I pay them using the FPS from my Halifax account, will it mean my payment reaches them on the same day? Does anyone know whether this is right or do they still drag their heels for 2 to 3 days?

It depends on the card operator. Some say that if you pay by 3pm it'll be applied to your account same day, or next working day if after 3pm. Other's have a later cut off.
So when I pay various cards from my Halifax account by Faster Payment, it gets applied to my card same day.
With the strange exception of my Halifax clarity card - if I pay my clarity card from my Halifax current account, it uses BACS instead of FPS. Which is odd. But if I transfer from a Halifax current account to an RBS current account by FPS, and then pay the Clarity card from the RBS current account by FPS, it goes straight away.
Strange indeed.0 -

Good Idea.............. if I hadn't already paid them last week. I might give that a shot next time I use one of them.
I found out it works with Tesco bonus cc, paid and credited to your account in a few hours, which to be fair in this day and age it should be. This 2 to 3 days garbage is just another way for them to make millions in interest every year in my opinion.0
