Damien Rice October UK Tour Presale

I know he's fairly big (ish) but this will be like Morrissey's last tour in the sense that these tickets will be way cheaper on ebay in the run up to the gigs. Yet another example of an artist over-estimating his 'pulling power' IMHO. I'm waiting until Sep to get my tickets.0

Cheapest way to get tickets it to go to the gig on the night and wait until the touts will take anything for the tickets. I went to see Jet at Brixton academy and touts were selling tickets to this ''sold out'' gig for a fiver, face value was £16.50.
Seeing that the gigs are at large venues I imagine there will be loads of cheap tickets on the night.0 -

Not sure about that, tickets for Damien Rice coming up in March are selling at higher prices on ebay now so I imagine it will be similar in the weeks before the October gig too.0 -

Waaayyyy smaller venues on the March tour (and only 4 dates). Rice just desn't seem one of those artist's whose music will work that well in huge arenas, either.0 -

Very true. I would love to see him in a small venue. I think the London venue for March tour has a 5000 capacity as compared to around 12000 for Wembley. Still, I am very much looking forward to the gig in October! I think he is great.0 -
I'm going to the Newcastle Arena gig, they usually screen off half of the arena for all-seated gigs, still a horrible venue, but not quite as cavernous as usual...0

I totally agree with that. I'm a long-time Rice fan and I just can't see how this is going to work. Even his gigs I've been to back in Ireland are intimate affairs.
