I activated a new sim yesterday and is working fine.

    Without any payment?

    Pay As You Go customers

If you’re new to O2 and you have a Pay As You Go sim, you'll need to top up to activate it.

Can you still get the O" priority offers even without topping up that sim, or is it just top it up once and then you should be able to do it?

And for phones that can take two Sim cards, presumably you can just insert the free O2 sim into the second slot?

I think u maybe need to use it so often now... I had a o2 SIM for over 10 years and its got credit on it... used it just around christmas time and 2 months ago when I went to check it had stopped working..

Thanks for the tip off, I got a new sim a few months ago as I wanted to change my number but still keep my old sim open incase I'd forgotten to tell people of the change, I'll keep a closer eye on it now.

the number would be under my phone details.

yes the sim has expired. you need to get a new sim and update the app

Thank you, I will send off for a new Sim but hoping I don't have to top up too much as I'll never use that credit. Not sure how I'll set up the app from a non smart phone though as I can't remember how I did this last time round as I need it on my regular phone which is a s,art one and know that ones locked.

You shouldn't have to top up at all, but if you do I think it would be £10.
Try these instructions below without a top up first though.

    - When you have received the O2 PAYG sim open O2 Priority on your smartphone and type the number of the O2 PAYG sim where it tells you to do so.

    - You only need the code to access the O2 Priority app, the O2 PAYG sim doesn't ever need to be inside the phone you'll use the app on.

    - So if you just put the O2 PAYG in your non smartphone, you'll get the code on the non smartphone via text, then enter it on your smartphone and you should have access to the offers.

That's sound advice, and that's the way it used to work.

But they seem to have changed the system now, so that the SIM can only be activated with a £10 top-up payment. Unless you do that it won't even produce the usual welcome texts, and you can't get the text you need for O2 Priority app.

The new SIMs don't even have the phone number on them, or on any of the accompanying packaging. O2 seem to have got wise to this little trick!

I received my new sim yesterday (only took 2 days) and I have activated o2 Priority App without having to add any credit. I simply added the phone number and then received a text straight away with the activation code.

The phone number isn't on the sim but on the inside of the packaging. Took me ages to see it!

    HTH :)

The mobile number wasn't on the sim protection card which is why at first I couldn't find it. It was printed inside the paper packaging.
