Really miffed with WH Smiths today - the app still advertises the offer as a £1 lunch but they now charge £1.01 as the code now comes up on the till as 1p! I was in a big queue of people, many of whom including myself just had a pound coin, and the staff refused to put it through at £1 so half the queue left with nothing. Can't understand why they're charging for the code? They couldn't explain it either and said it was decided by o2, but none of the other stores taking part in the offer were charging an extra penny. I know it's only 1p, but to not have a reasonable explanation and then to refuse to serve people when the offer still clearly states £1 seems a bit daft!

if you have a genuine 02 account, tweet/facebook/email them to find out what is happening

  • That happened to me in Wh SMITH Too. But the guy was carrying pennies around and putting them in to even it out for people with codes.

  • A few weeks back my Boots meal deal ended up being 1.39...I brought a couple of other items which hid it at the time. Then I was being annoyed as I always buy the same thing yet Ive not had a problem since, very strange but will watch out when I buy other items in the future.
Debt free and busy treating myself:)

No more toiletries/make up until I've used what I've got stashed since Jan 2011, graduated October 2012. Restocked Dec 13..damn those sales
  • I got my first Boots meal deal yesterday :D bargain. I only opened the page to get the code right when i was at the counter, but it already said it had expired! Luckily the lady still put it through for me, no idea why that happened though :(

You need to get to Boots early for the lunch deal, the first store was out of sandwiches by 12 noon yesterday :o ended up driving further afield to get it and also passed a Domino's too :T
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

I wonder if the WHS calendar offer will be on this year or other WHS Christmas offers I seem to recall a pack of cards and a roll of wrapping paper last year too.

Hopefully yes but it's a little early

I know - saw the calendars in WHS yesterday and made me wonder if there would be a free one this year too as that was so nice last year:)

I hope WHS are still doing the offers as I love the Christmas cards. I did notice though in September when the school go back they often have free pencils and dictionaries but this year there were none, all my family get them and give them to my daughter who is a primary teacher and works in a very poor area so she just uses them for the whole class.

For the first time for ages, the WH Smiths meal deal for £1 wasn't on yesterday. I have become so used to it being there that I did not check and almost had to pay full price :)
