I face that dilemma today flying from Stansted. IN the end I have decided to not pack anything and instead buy what I need airside (i.e after security) where there are no restrictions0

When I flew out in November (just after the new rules came into force) the bags were provided for us. They were small, thin, clear plastic bags that weren't resealable. All we had to do was go through our hand luggage and remove anything that was a liquid, eg hand cream or lip balm and place it in the bag. I'd recommend either not packing anything in your hand luggage thats restricted or buying it after you've been through security.
If you do decide to buy some bags, cheap sandwich bags from Waitrose of Tescos will do fine!
Have a good flight!0 -
