I want to apply for a new credit card to transfer a balance. My tesco credit card had a zero balance and so i closed it to improve my chances of being accepted for a new one. I rang today and she told me it was now closed but i have a months grace if i changed my mind.
I wonder how long do you think before the closure shows up on credit checks.

6 weeks is a reasonable guide but it could be anything from a couple of weeks to a couple of months.
Creditors only update the CRAs once a month for that sort of info, so just depends on where you hit the cycle.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
without knowing your general circumstances it's impossible to say but I doubt closing a single CC will make any difference to the likelihood of getting another card0

Well depends, its based on income to debt ratio and each leader is different. So if you had a high limit with tesco may help. But there is no guaranteeIf you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0
