Getting annoyed already!!

We're off to see the venue in an hour so hopefully their face to face service is a little better!

I had this happen to me when choosing our venue and I decided I'd go on my gut feelings when I visited, glad I did, the lady was so pushy and rude I couldn't have beared trying to plan a wedding at her venue!! Found somewhere else, for cheaper, and 100 times nicer atmosphere and staff.

Well that was a complete disaster!

There are 2 ways to get to the venue... through town and round the houses. OH decided to go through town... but we didn't even manage to get to town nevermind through it! Traffic was at a standstill and we were going nowhere. OH started getting a*sey because he hates jams and we ended up rowing I tried asking him to go back on himself and round the houses but he weren't having any of it so I had to call to rearrange and come home. And now we're sat in silence! Great night

Oh no, I know its easier said than done but try to remain upbeat in all this, remember the real reason why you're going through all this I'm based in Worksop so if you want the details for any of our suppliers (caterers, photographer etc) then just drop me a msg and I can pass you the details on to try and take some of the stress out of finding people & needing recommendations

Oh no!! I can't cope with traffic jams either, I get a proper teeth-gnashing fit on over them

Hope it goes well when you do make it to the venue!

We went to see 4 venues in one day when we were deciding:
Venue 1 - lovely, staff were wonderful, got us a drink and gave us a little bit of time to chat alone before coming back to us to 'wrap up' our visit and say goodbye
Venue 2 - knew we were coming but acted incredibly surprised when we got there, freezing cold inside the venue, cramped toilets (check the toilets are clean and there are enough for your guests) and just sat us down with a photo album and a stack of thank you letters, once we were done looking at them we didn't know what to do, lady carried on ignoring us and we eventually snook out!
Venue 3 - Wonderful, too small
Venue 4 - as venue 1 again, we were properly looked after and there did seem to be some structure to our visit

I do think that you need to judge the venue on the service of their staff/wedding coordinator, so emails, phone calls and face-to-face meetings are all important.

I mystery shop part time, so after viewing venues will be going back at a later date unannounced to look at state of place toilets, parking etc and if possible to have a meal. I am the fussiest person ever if we have a venue that is not exlusive use it must have private bar and toilets. The future mother in law has viewied 4 venues so far 2 weeks ago and only 1 has called back. In my job every customer gets a call back within a week without fail, I appreciate make up artists etc might struggle but a venue for me no excuse for not returning a call. I echo earlier comments if they cant return a call now what about a week before the wedding if something needs to be changed. SALOGO over christmas we will be driving to our prefered wedding venue then leaving at right time to then go see recepton venue to look at traffic etc and how long it takes. Can think of nothing work then sitting in traffic for an hour on your wedding day

I think this is a good thing, as maybe you can now use the fact some guests might have to sit in traffic to help you decide between this one and other.
